At S3C Foundation, we believe that education, connection, and community should be accessible to everyone. We're pleased to share two exciting developments that support our ongoing commitment to removing barriers and expanding access to resources for survivors of complex trauma and dissociation.
Expanding Accessibility Through Braille
We are grateful to announce a new collaboration with the Washington State Braille Services Team, which is transcribing our Symposia packet into Braille.
Our symposia bring together survivors, clinicians, researchers, and advocates to share knowledge, explore the complexities of trauma and dissociation, and strengthen our community. Making these educational materials available in Braille is an important step toward ensuring that blind and visually impaired participants have meaningful access to the information we share.
Accessibility is more than a statement of values. It requires thoughtful planning, collaboration, and a willingness to recognize and address barriers that may otherwise prevent people from participating fully.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the Washington State Braille Services Team for contributing their expertise to this effort and helping us make our educational resources more inclusive.
Support From the ACA Foundation
We are also honored to announce that S3C Foundation has been awarded a $500 microgrant from the American Counseling Association Foundation (ACA Foundation).
This award recognizes the value of our work and our commitment to supporting the counseling profession and the communities we serve.
As a small nonprofit, we know that meaningful progress is often made possible through the generosity of individuals and organizations who believe in our mission. Grants like this one help sustain the work of expanding education, advocacy, and community for people affected by complex trauma and dissociation.
We are grateful to the ACA Foundation for its recognition and support.
Building a More Accessible Community
These developments reflect an important part of S3C Foundation's mission: ensuring that people have opportunities to learn, connect, and participate, regardless of the barriers they may face.
We recognize that accessibility is an ongoing commitment. It means listening to our community, identifying unmet needs, and working alongside organizations with the expertise and resources to help us respond.
We are thankful for the organizations, professionals, volunteers, and community members who make this work possible.
Together, we can continue building a community where more people have access to the education, support, and connection they deserve.
